If you are seeing any of the following errors when you try to launch the CyberStart Game Virtual Machine:

- Errors indicating the file is corrupted
- Error indicating the file specified is not a virtual disk
- References of an "internal error"
- File access error occurred on the host or guest operating system

Check you are opening the right file

These errors are often seen because you are trying to use the VM by double-clicking the wrong file. There are a lot of files that make up a Virtual Machine, and it is easy to accidentally click the wrong one, in particular if your computer is configured not to show file extensions.

If your computer is displaying file extensions, make sure you are double-clicking on the file with the extension .vmx

If your computer doesn't display file extensions, make sure you are double-clicking on the file with the icon of 3 stacked squares, pictured below.

Check you have fully extracted the zip file

Check to make sure you have full extracted the VM before you try to run it. Some versions of Windows will let you look inside a zipped folder without actually extracting it, but you cannot run a VM unless the zipped folder has been fully extracted (unzipped).
